Abafuduki is a website I built as part of my Masters degree that takes a closer look at the generations of South Africans moving to the UK. It examines the push and pull factors influencing their decision to emigrate, how the lived experience of black South Africans differs to that of white South Africans, and how the perception of ‘home’ intersects with the idea of returning to South Africa one day.
For my my final thesis for my Honours degree I collected ‘Portraits of a 20 Year Democracy’ in South Africa in 2014, 20 years after democracy was born.
